2K’s Mafia II has debuted at the top of the UK All Format Charts, resulting in the region’s biggest videogame launch since Rockstar’s Wild West romp, Red Dead Redemption.
The 360 version of the mobster sequel took the lion’s share of overall sales with 52 percent, with the PS3 and PC releases nabbing 41 percent and 7 percent, respectively.
Meanwhle, last week’s number one Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days saw an increase in sales of 33 percent, though this wasn’t enough to keep Mafia II off the top spot. As a result, the game dropped to second place.
