2K has announced details on the various special edition releases of upcoming crime drama Mafia III ahead of its launch on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One in October.
For starters, everyone who pre-orders the upcoming sequel will receive the Family Kick-Back, which offers three exclusive lieutenant-themed vehicles and weapons. More details are expected at a later date.
Mafia III will also be available in two special versions of the game: the Limited Deluxe and Limited Collector’s Edition. The former includes the full game and the Season Pass and will set you back $79.99. Finally, the Collector’s version features everything in the Deluxe version, plus the game’s soundtrack on vinyl, an art book, art prints, plus other as-yet unannounced physical goodies. This will retail for $149.99.
Mafia III is scheduled for release on PS4, PC and Xbox One on October 7. The game thrusts players into the shoes of Vietnam veteran Lincoln Clay, who embarks on a mission of revenge in New Orleans in the year 1968, following an attempt on his life by Italian mobsters.
The game is being developed by Hangar 13, a new outfit established by 2K and headed by LucasArts veteran, Haden Blackman. Previously, the Mafia series had been the brainchild of 2K Czech, which folded in early 2014.
