Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams has reiterated her interest in playing Ellie in the upcoming movie adaptation of The Last of Us.
Speaking during a Reddit AMA, Williams said that the project, based on Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed video game, is still in the ‘early stages’ of development.
"The Last of Us movie is in very early days," said Williams. "I have spoken to powerful people who are getting The Last of Us on its feet. And I’m hopeful that I can play Ellie in the future, but we’ll all have to wait and see."
Earlier this week, Neil Druckmann, who is penning the script for the movie, said that while the film will remain faithful to the source material, the script will still contain some ‘big changes.’
Williams has already expressed her interest in portraying Ellie, although it seems the deal has yet to be sealed.
