Rockstar Games caught a huge break today when the ESRB re-rated Manhunt 2 as Mature rather than the previous "Adult only" rating. After both Nintendo and Sony refused to allow Manhunt 2 on their consoles following the AO rating in June, Rockstar began tweaking the title.
Founder of Rockstar games, Same Houser stated, "Manhunt 2 is important to us, and we’re glad it can finally be appreciated as a gaming experience." Mildly amusing sentiment, since it means they’ll actually sell a copy. Anyway, he did go on to state, "We love the horror genre. Manhunt 2 is a powerful piece of interactive story telling that is a unique video game experience. We think horror fans will love it." Let’s just hope there were no sacrifices in storyline to appease the ESRB.
Now that the rating has changed and all parties are happy, Manhunt 2 is back on track for their October 31, 2007 release.
