Bungie as revealed that Marathon will not require a PlayStation Network account for players on PC and Xbox platforms.
The news comes just a few days ahead of the official Marathon gameplay reveal on April 12, where we’ll finally get our first proper look at the project. Prior to this, Bungie had started ramping up its marketing efforts for Marathon by posting a series of images on social media, which also appears on the official PlayStation X account.

Back in March it was revealed in a job listing posted by Bungie that Marathon will feature in-game seasonal events, and follows a series of preorder bonuses appearing on the Steam backend.
Marathon was originally released in 1994 for Apple Macintosh and takes place far in the future where players take on the role of a security officer attempting to stop an alien invasion on board the colony ship, Marathon. The revival of the series is currently in development for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S and is described as a futuristic PvP extraction shooter.
