Marvel vs Capcom Infinite Ghost Rider confirmed for fighting sequel
Capcom has officially announced that Ghost Rider will be joining the ranks of its upcoming fighting game Marvel vs Capcom Infinite.
The publisher confirmed that the motorcycle-riding superhero will be making his full debut at Gamescom later this month. “Ghost Rider joins the #MCVI roster at Gamescom on 8/22,” said Capcom. “But this week, he’s alongside Morrigan in our Defenders variant cover!”
This isn’t the first time that Ghost Rider has popped up in the crossover fighting game. The chain-wielding chap made his debut in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, and came equipped with a number of his trademark abilities to batter his opponents with. The game was recently re-released for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, so go check it out if you haven’t already.
One thing we don’t know just yet is what version of Ghost Rider we can expect to see in Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, although we’ll surely get that information during the Gamescom reveal.
Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is scheduled for release on September 19 in North America and Europe for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. The game sees heroes and villains of both universes banding together to take down a new threat in the shape of Ultron Sigma.
Ghost Rider will be joined by a number of new characters to the series, including Mega Man X, Sigma, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Gamora.
As with previous iterations, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite utilise a tag team combat system, where gamers battle against opponents in a two-on-two punch-up.
However, instead of using assist attacks from your off-screen partner, the game now employs a free-form tag system known as Active Switch, which plucks influence from Street Fighter x Tekken and MvC 3’s Team Aerial Combo mechanic.
