Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will release on PC tomorrow at time of writing, and Nixxes Software has waited until today, to reveal the minimum required specs for the game, and what features players will enjoy in this new version.
When it comes to minimum required specifications, your PC will need to at least be equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU/AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT GPU and an Intel Core i3-8100/AMD Ryzen 3 3100 CPU. 16 GB of RAM, and your SSD will need 140GB of space.
That’s just the minimum though. What Nixxes recommends, is that you’re equipped with a NVIDA GeForce RTX 3060/AMD Radeon RX 5700 GPU, and a Intel Core i5-8400/AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, with the rest of the specs staying the same.
You can check out the full spec chart for yourself, below.
In a PlayStation Blog post, Nixxes dives into the different features players will be able to utilize on PC, if their gaming rigs are up for it of course. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC will include “ray-traced interiors, shadows, and ambient occlusion options that add an additional layer of believability with realistic shadows and increased depth to the game.”
There’s even deeper levels of detail you can dive into if you’ve got real top of the line hardware, with a setting for increased raytracing geometry detail. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 also supports NVIDIA’s DLSS Ray Reconstruction technology, which is another boost you can enjoy, with the stipulation of needing hardware that supports the feature.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 also has support for ultrawide monitors, whether that’s one giant monitor or even three side by side by side. Also, DLSS isn’t the only upscaling technology the game supports, it also supports AMD’s FSR 3.1 and Intel XeSS.
Nixxes finally dived in on the required specs and features for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but we also learned today that the game will be part of a new initiative Sony is trying with its PC releases.
Starting tomorrow, the requirement for players to link their PSN account to their PlayStation games on PC will be optional, but only for a select few games to start. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is part of the debut batch of games. Players that still choose to link their accounts will be rewarded with early access to in-game unlockables that you would have otherwise acquired through gameplay.
