After its announcement more than three years ago, Insomniac Games has finally raised the curtain on Marvel’s Wolverine. A hyper-violent third-person action adventure, the brief gameplay trailer that Insomniac Games showed was every bit as violent as the Wolverine we know from the classic Marvel Comics with all manner of dismemberments, decapitations and generous amounts of gushing blood – all enabled by fancy new blood rendering technology.
We also have a release window too – Marvel’s Wolverine will release for PS5 sometime in 2026.
Though we don’t have a real bead on the story for Marvel’s Wolverine, we can see from the trailer that Logan comes up against the likes of Omega Red and the Sentinels. Interestingly, shapeshifting mutant Mystique also appears to be controllable too in certain sections of the game.
Spartacus star Liam McIntyre takes on the role of Wolverine for Insomniac’s latest and by all accounts it looks like the Aussie actor has hit a home run – lending Logan’s digital form the sort of ferocity that one would expect from one of Marvel’s most violent superheroes.
