An anime flick based on BioWare’s celebrated Mass Effect series is currently in production, publishing behemoth Electronic Arts has announced.
Due out in summer 2012, the movie is a collaborative effort between the chaps at BioWare, T.O. Entertainment and FUNimation.
Casey Hudson, Mass Effect’s series producer, will take on the role of executive producer alongside FUNimation president and CEO Gen Fukunaga, director of original entertainment Chris Moujaes, and Takeichi Honda and Yui Shibata of T.O. Entertainment.
Said Hudson: “Over the last few years, we have revealed different pieces of the Mass Effect world through different media. Extending the story through an anime medium is another amazing opportunity for us.”
“Partnering with FUNimation ensures that we will bring this rich universe to life with the utmost quality and the same attention to detail that the Mass Effect games are known for.”
Stay tuned for further details as we get them.
