D3Publisher has revealed that iconic game idol Matt Hazard has decided to make a second appearance this year outside of his Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard debut.
According to the publisher, the retro-style title is going to be a side-scrolling downloadable affair that aids players in understanding the back story to Eat Lead, which hits stores next month. While no date has been given, D3P is aiming for a summer release.
In case some of our readers are unsure as to who Matt Hazard is, allow us to enlighten you. Hazard is inarguably the greatest gaming icon of all time, achieving astronomical success over a 25-year career. Or at least that’s what he wants you to believe.
In reality, the tough-talking action hero’s illustrious career and anticipated “comeback” is merely a fabrication on D3P’s part, with Eat Lead being his first actual gaming appearance. We’ll let the company do the talking: "Eat Lead parodies some of our fondest memories in classic gaming and pop culture, so gamers will have a laugh out loud experience every time they pick-up the controller."
Nonetheless, Hazard faces some stiff competition come the release of his first project this year, which hits retail shelves alongside the eagerly awaited Halo Wars on March 3.
