Remedy has revealed in its latest business review published today that the Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remakes have now progressed to the ‘production readiness stage,’ with the developer ‘excited’ about the project and its success.
Max Payne 1&2 remake progressed into the production readiness stage. We have gained clarity on the style and scope of the game, and we have an exceptionally well-organized team working on it. With these accomplishments, we are excited about the project and its future success.
From the look of things the Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes are progressing steadily, as back in April Remedy announced that the projects had entered the proof-of-concept stage. While a release date has yet to be announced for both remakes, the developer said in May 2022 that the games are expected to launch by 2025.
The original Max Payne was released for the PS2, PC, and Xbox back in 2001, while the sequel followed in 2003 for the same platforms.
