Kojima Productions has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will run at 1080p on the PlayStation 4.
By comparison, current-generation versions, as well as the Xbox One release, will run at 720p, the developer revealed.
The news comes following a slew of high praise for PS4 from Hideo Kojima, who described Sony’s latest games system as ‘the best console.’
In addition, various reports from a recent Ground Zeroes ‘boot camp’ event have stated the PS4 version looks superior to the Xbox One edition.
MGSV: Ground Zeroes is the precursor to the upcoming The Phantom Pain, and takes place a few years after the events of MGS: Peace Walker. The game takes place in an open-world setting for the first time in the series’ history, and offers multiple ways in which players can accomplish their objective.
The game is due out in the U.S. on March 18 and in Europe on March 20.
