Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater‘s multiplayer component, Fox Hunt, will launch in Fall 2025.
Fox Hunt is unrelated to Metal Gear Online, which was originally released with Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater Subsistence on the PS2, and was designed by Yu Sahara, who previously worked on Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

Speaking at the time of its announcement in June, Sahara-san commented:
When we say Metal Gear multiplayer, many fans will probably think of Metal Gear Online, but Fox Hunt will be its own new type of mode. We very much appreciate all the long-time fans of MGO who have always wanted to see it make a comeback, but the landscape of multiplayer games has changed a lot since MGO. It took a lot of careful consideration to think about what a new online mode should look like.
Metal Gear Solid: Delta Snake Eater combines the story of the original MGS3 and its voice acting with a full ground-up remake in the animation and visual department, while also offering a number of improvements to bring the game in line with modern standards. The game is set to launch on August 28, 2025 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
