Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater will allow players the option of switching back to a classic visual filter that replicates the look of the original 2004 PS2 version of the game.
Speaking on the Xbox podcast, the game’s producer, Noriaka Okamura revealed that the Legacy control option “applies a visual filter to more faithfully recreate the screen look of the original game.” Konami later revealed to Eurogamer that you can use either control method with the visual filter if you want.

Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater is a full-blown remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater that completely overhauls the original version’s visuals and sound effects. Unlike the 20-year-old Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (which is a remake of the original MGS) however, it does not have the original voice actors recording their performances, instead using the original dialogue.
Konami hasn’t announced a release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater yet, but preorders are now live and you can choose from a Deluxe Edition or a Collector’s Edition featuring a host of physical goodies. Right now the latter is only available in the US, but Konami has said that EU/UK fans will receive their own Collector’s Edition.
