Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is featured in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.2, and it’s now been confirmed that the game will include Snake’s iPod from the original PS3 version of the stealth title.
New footage of the game as appeared in a preview from YouTube’s WasyaganaTV, which went hands-on with Metal Gear Solid 4 during the early stages of the game as Snake is dropped into the middle of a war zone. This includes Snake meeting Drebin, using his OctoCamo suit to blend in with his surrounding, and chatting with Meryl and her squad. Naturally the game looks a lot smoother than it was on the PS3, with the frame rate and visuals all benefiting from some tweaking.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was originally released for the PS3 in June 2008 and follows Solid Snake, now suffering from accelerated aging due to the Fox Die virus, as he embarks on one final mission to bring down Liquid Ocelot. The game sees players visiting various battlefields across the globe, including the Middle-East, South America, Eastern Europe, and more.
Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 will arrive on August 26, 2026 for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S. In addition to Metal Gear Solid 4, the bundle also includes Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel.
