Metal Gear Solid Remake dev teases ‘big news’ announcement

Major news has been promised by the creator of a fan project to remake the original 1998 Metal Gear Solid in HD.

Independent developer Airam Hernandez has been working on the remake for many months, although there’s been concerns that the project may be disrupted if Konami, who owns the rights to the game, decide to step in to shut it down.

However, there’s something very interesting happening behind the scenes that could be excellent news for fans of Snake’s first action adventure.

Back in January, via the official Twitter account for the game (ShadowMoses), the developer teased information that ‘something major was brewing,’ but no further information materialized over the following weeks.

Earlier this week however, ShadowMoses confirmed again that there’s ‘big news’ behind the scenes, and it looks like he’s itching to tell everyone. Speculation is rife that Airam has either hit a major milestone in the development phase, or that Konami has given its backing to the project.

We’ll be keeping an eye on any developments, and will let you know the outcome.
