Metal Gear Solid V: The Phatom Pain’s voice director has said that Kiefer Sutherland, who voices Big Boss in the hotly anticipated sequel, will surprise people with his performance in the upcoming stealth-action thriller.
That’s at least according to an interview with Colonel Campbell voice actor, Paul Eiding, who told YouTuber YongYea of his chat with Kris Zimmerman regarding Sutherland’s performance in The Phantom Pain.
According to Eiding, Zimmerman said that “people are going to be surprised” by Sutherland’s efforts—good news for those who were upset that he replaced David Hayter as Big Boss in MGSV: Ground Zeroes and beyond.
Zimmerman admitted that she initially had some reservations about Sutherland taking up the iconic role, and wasn’t sure what it would be like to work with such a prolific actor. However, she added that Sutherland was ultimately "a dream to work with."
Despite Hayter being seemingly replaced, this hasn’t stopped many outlets from speculation that he will turn up in The Phantom Pain in some role.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is due out worldwide on September 1, 2015 for PS4, PS3, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
