Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s release date appears to have been accidently leaked in an article posted by The Guardian.
According to an article on the publication’s website, Konami’s upcoming open-world stealth sequel will arrive on March 17, 2015 — roughly a year after its predecessor, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
Predictably, the date was quickly pulled and changed to say ‘early 2015,’ though not before GamePur was able to take a quick snapshot of the date in question.
Konami has been keeping mum on The Phantom Pain’s release date, having only revealed that Naked Snake’s latest adventure will ship at some point in 2015.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain takes place in Afghanistan some nine years after the events of Ground Zeroes, with Big Boss – now going under the codename Venom Snake – seeking revenge for the destruction of Militaires Sans Frontieres.
