BioWare‘s Mike Gamble has offered a few new snippets of info on the highly anticipated Mass Effect 5, stating that it won’t be making any changes to the series’ established visual style.
Gamble took to X to discuss the next chapter in the sci-fi franchise, making it clear that as long as he’s in charge the game will utilise a photorealistic visual style.
Mass Effect is photorealistic and will be as long as I’m running it. Both are from the studio, but Mass Effect is Mass Effect. How you bring a sci-fi RPG to life is different than other genres or IPs, and has to have different kinds of love.

As previously reported, Gamble also said that the new Mass Effect game will maintain the same mature tone as the original trilogy, although wasn’t able to go into any further details yet.
BioWare hasn’t confirmed a release date for Mass Effect 5 (not an official title, obviously) but it’s still in the early stages of production, so we’re probably going to be waiting for some time yet.
