The classic turn-based strategy game Military Madness: Nectaris is coming to the PlayStation Network. The game is more than a revamped version of the 1989 TurboGrafx-16 title; it also sports a new multiplayer system and single-player campaign that is said to last 20 to 30 hours.
The game focuses more on tactics and military strategy rather than resource management or in-game economics. In the game you’ll take charge of a squad of various military units and fight your opponents on more than a half-dozen different terrain types. There are more than 20 different types of units, each with its own unique advantages and disadvantages.
The single-player campaign features all 32 classic missions from the original title (16 from the normal campaign and 16 from the advanced campaign). New graphics and a revamped AI offer a modern take on a classic game. The campaign will last between 20 to 30 hours.
Multiplayer is available online and locally for up to four players, with 10 original maps designed specifically for two, three, or four players. You’ll also get various vehicle upgrades, support abilities, free-for-all games, team games, voice chats, and more. The game will also support Trophies.
The game, developed by Backbone Entertainment, is set to release on the PSN for the PlayStation 3 sometime soon. No specific release dates or price have been announced.
