In possibly one of the strangest interviews ever, Geoff Keighly got the chance to sit down with Moby Dick Studio CEO Joakim Mogren and talk about The Phantom Pain, only leading to a comical slip up at the end.
The interview starts off as we see a bandaged Mogren (A total reference to the Kiefer Sutherland sounding character in the trailer) talking in what appears to be a horrible attempt at a Swedish accent. When the bandage is brought up, Joakim says, "Yes. I had a little accident, but I should be good by GDC coming up." Joakim continues mentioning that he will be attending the Game Developers Conference this year with a new trailer for The Phantom Pain and mentioning that "all of your questions will be answered" (Does anyone remember that quote from Kojima circa Metal Gear Solid 4?)
Mogren couldn’t confirm or deny that the game is in development for next generation consoles, but did show new concept and gameplay images, to which Mogren ‘accidentally’ showed two images at the end with the FOX Engine logo at the bottom right. Keighly mentions the logo and the interview ends with an "Oh my God!" look from Mogren.
You can watch the entire interview here. Hideo Kojima will also be holding a 90-minute presentation at GDC this year for the FOX Engine & Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes on March 27, but expect Joakim Mogren to be there.
