Infinity Ward community boss Robert Bowling has unveiled fresh info on upcoming shooter Modern Warfare 2’s voice talent, confirming that the developer is putting the finishing touches on the "final voice work" of five of the game’s actors.
One of the most recognisable contributors to the sequel is Keith David, who previously appeared in blockbusters including Halo 2, Halo 3 and Mass Effect among others. In addition to his prolific career as a voice actor, David has also appeared in numerous films, such as Requiem for a Dream, They Live and Platoon.
Elsewhere, Bowling confirmed that the cast would be supplemented by the likes of Kevin McKidd (who features in a recurring role in Grey’s Anatomy, and is best known for his portrayal of Tommy in Trainspotting) and Barry Pepper, who previously voiced Prototype’s Alex Mercer and also appeared as a bible-quoting sniper in the brutal WWII epic, Saving Private Ryan.
Bringing up the rear is Glenn Morshower, who recently featured in summer sequel Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen and has appeared in over a whopping 150 television shows to date. Finally, Modern Warfare 2 signals the return of British actor Craig Fairbrass, who should ring a bell with fans of the original game for his memorable performance of fellow SAS commando, Gaz. Fairbrass is best known among UK audiences for his portrayal of bad boy Dan Sullivan in EastEnders, and more recently, as violent drug dealer Pat Tate in the gritty crime romp, Rise of the Foot Soldier.
Much to PSU’s disappointment, it appears that Billy Murray – aka Modern Warfare’s Captain Price – won’t be returning for the sequel. Modern Warfare 2 is due out worldwide on November 10.
