Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be getting that much bigger as the first two downloadable maps will be hitting the PlayStation 3 first for Call of Duty Elite subscribers. Those who purchased an Elite subscription—our bought the Hardened Edition of Modern Warfare 3—will be entitled to all incoming DLC for the game throughout the next nine months at the low price of free.
While we’re sure MW3 players without an Elite membership will have access to the content shortly after, premium members of Activision’s Call of Duty information network will receive the maps on February 28; no release date has been given for when the DLC will arrive for non-premium Elite members.
The first of the two maps is a “militarized Central Park in the heart of NYC” called Liberation, while the second is located in an Italian village–Piazza.
It shouldn’t go without mention that these maps have previously hit the Xbox 360 on January 25, meaning that Xbox Live users have already been swimming in the sea of kills.
