In news that unlikely to shock anyone, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is now the bookies favourite to nab the Christmas 2011 no.1 spot.
The Activision-published military shooter has nabbed odds of 1/12 on Ladbrokes, while Paddy Power has the game at 1/16.
Of course, should Modern Warfare 3 ultimately take the Christmas crown then it’ll be the third consecutive entry in the massively popular series to do so, following on from Modern Warfare 2 in 2009 and last year’ Black Ops.
Alex Donohue, spokesman for Ladbrokes, commented, "Call of Duty looks nailed on to grab the top spot and the others look to be playing for second place only.”
"We’ve never known odds so short for a game to be number one at this early stage."
Modern Warfare 3 is due out on November 8.
