Capcom’s lifted the lid on sales data for its latest batch of major software releases during the nine months to December 31, 2010.
First up, the Japanese giant confirmed that gore ‘em up Dead Rising 2’s shifted 2.2 million copies to date, followed by brawler Super Street Fighter IV, which moved 1.6 million units. Lost Planet 2, meanwhile, has sold 1.5 million copies.
The latter is particularly noteworthy, which despite “steady sales” sold below projections, according to Capcom’s financial report.
Unsurprisingly, PSP outing Monster Hunter Freedom 3 eclipsed the lot, selling a staggering 4.1 million copies in Japan alone. The pint-sized sequel contributed to a 294 percent raise in profits for the first nine months of the year, with numbers reaching 6.83 billion yen (£51.7 million/$83.9 million).
Sales, meanwhile, hit 70.77 billion yen (£535.7 million/$868.8 million), representing an increase of approximately 41.6 percent.
All in all, not too shabby.
