Monster Hunter Wilds Release Date Set For February 2025 On PS5

Capcom has announced a Monster Hunter Wilds release date of February 28, 2025 during the latest State of Play broadcast this evening.

Monster Hunter Wilds is the next major title from Capcom, who it’s fair to say has been riding a wave of success pretty much since 2017’s Resident Evil VII: Biohazard. After that game launched, we got Monster Hunter World, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and some fantastic compilation releases in between.

The Monster Hunter franchise itself has been going for around two decades now, and was something of a cult series with little traction in the west. However, the release of Monster Hunter World changed all that, with Capcom’s action-adventure romp gaining huge mainstream success and becoming a multi-million selling title.

Monster Hunter Wilds looks set to build on that success when it arrives on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in February 2025. Want to know more? Here’s the official blurb to whet your appetite:

A world with an ever-changing climate. Life here has learned to adapt to the harsh environments, the wildlife developing its own ecosystem, and the humans developing their own culture within it. Each hunting locale features an environment with two dynamically changing identities: one in which the region is harsh and unforgiving where ravenous monsters fight for limited resources—and another in which the region is vibrant and brimming with life. Changes in the environment also means changes for the monsters and wildlife that live there, so you’ll be running into new surprises around every corner.
