Mat Piscatella of analyst firm Circana has revealed that Monster Hunter Wilds has gotten off to an impressive start in the US, with its launch month sales surpassing those of predecessor Monster Hunter Worlds by a whopping 40%.
The latest entry in Capcom’s monster-slaying series came out at the end of February 2025 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, garnering rave reviews and continuing the publisher’s seemingly never ending run of hits. There’s a few things to note, though, as Monster Hunter World was a $60 game while Wilds retails for $70, and the PC version of World didn’t arrive until months later.

In addition, the game also topped the PlayStation Store PS5 download charts for February 2025 in the US, while putting in a respectable third place in the EU during the same period.
