One of our favorite industry leaders, Peter Moore, is at it once more, giving his insight into what to expect from both Sony and Microsoft when it comes to motion control. While Moore may be closely associated with Microsoft on name recognition alone, he feels that both companies are probably looking at ways to taking motion control one step further than Nintendo already has.
"I think that, knowing Microsoft in particular obviously, that they are constantly thinking three to five years ahead of where consumer behaviour is going to be, how do people want to interact with their games, and are probably thinking about, not how do we replicate motion control, but how do we go one step further?" the former Xbox man told GameTrailers.
"So, to your point, I think they’re doing that and I think Sony probably the same."
Though Sony may already be utilizing the SIXAXIS as a form of motion control, it can be improved significantly from its current state. If developers can find a way to adapt the motion control technology in a way that doesn’t feel forced on the user, it could be a great addition to any title. Until then, however, we’re just going to have to take Moore’s word for it.
