Developer NetherRealm Studios has announced that it will host a Mortal Kombat 1 panel at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 21, 2023. There’s no details available right now, but the studio says it’s “a panel you won’t want to miss.”
The Mortal Kombat 1 panel will kick off at 3.15PM and will last one hour, so hopefully that’ll offer plenty of time for some new gameplay footage and roster details. Still, we’ll have to wait and see what NetherRealm have up their sleeves.
Mortal Kombat 1 takes place in a brand new era and acts as the second reboot of the series after 2011’s Mortal Kombat.
The main roster will feature a number of iconic characters including Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Johnny Cage, Kung Lao, Kitana, Smoke and more. Meanwhile, MK1 introduces Kameo Fighters, which are partner characters that assist your during matches; some are exclusively Kameo Fighters, while others are playable and feature in Kameo appearances.
Mortal Kombat 1 is pencilled in for release on September 19, 2023 for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
