Conan the Barbarian is officially due to arrive in Mortal Kombat 1 as the latest fighter in the game’s roster next week on January 21, 2025.
Unfortunately, that’s only for those who purchased the Khaos Reigns expansion. If you just have the base game, you’ll have to wait another week until January 28, 2025 to be able to purchase Conan as an additional fighter.
Conan’s arrival announcement for Mortal Kombat 1 came with a brand new trailer, showcasing Conan’s deadly sword fighting ability, even against the equally deadly warriors already included in Mortal Kombat.
According to a Warner Bros. press release, his fighting style is “built around his iconic Atlantean Sword. The master blade-wielder can perform complex maneuvers with the imposing steel weapon, including his intricate sword spinning and signature overhead chop to take down opponents with brute force.”
You can check out the gameplay trailer for Conan, showcasing his sword skills and a brutal fatality move at the end for yourself, here.
Conan will extend the roster of fighters to a total of 34, with the T-1000 from Terminator still to come to make 35. If recent rumours are to be believed, then 35 will be the final number of characters available in Mortal Kombat 1.
A report from November 2024 claimed that a second expansion for the game beyond its Khaos Reigns DLC was cancelled due to the Khaos Reigns expansion selling poorly.
If that is the case, then Conan will be the second-to-last character to join the roster when he arrives next week.
