Mortal Kombat 1 PS5 Players Are Going Back In Time To Avoid Paying For Character Skins

Mortal Kombat 1 had an excellent start in September, with a strong story players had fun diving into, and a refined fighting system that’s made the online scene feel refreshed more than ever.

Cut to a few poor monetization choices later, and players are entirely unhappy with NetherRealm and Warner Bros, with the latest issue the community has being character skins that were previously available for free through Invasions now becoming paid items in the in-game store.

As a way to kombat NetherRealm and Warner Bros monetizing an item previously available through gameplay, players have taken to time-travel, or at least a form of it.

Twitter user @iScreamFGC discovered that by changing the date on your PS5, you’ll be able to access the now-premium skins through gameplay as it once was, and keep them when you change the date back to the present.

ALL Last Seasons Items can be purchased by changing the date on your PS5 to any date BEFORE 6th November! Load up ur game, buy all of last Seasons items & u can complete last seasons Mesa! When u done change date back to PRESENT day & u keep EVERYTHING!” said iScreamFGC.

While NetherRealm will likely issue a hot fix for this work around soon, if you want last season’s skins, best to strike while the iron is hot.
