Mouse P.I. For Hire Has Sold So Well That Publisher PlaySide Studios Has Already Recouped Its Investment

PlaySide Studios has revealed that Mouse P.I. For Hire, the noir-style shooter from developer FumiGames, has sold around 730,000 units since its launch on April 16.

Speaking during the company’s financial report for the year ending June 30, 2026, the publisher issued the following: “MOUSE: P.I. For Hire has sold approximately 730,000 units across all platforms since launch. Console units have increased to 50% of total units sold as the title retains significant visibility on console storefronts.”

PlaySide went on to note that Mouse P.I. For Hire has generated an estimated $21.4 million, and stated that its “expenses have now been recouped, and continued strong sales performance is expected to support meaningful near-term cash inflows.”

Mouse P.I. For Hire is now available for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S, and takes the form of first-person shooter in 1934 in the city of Mouseburg, which as you probably guessed is full of anthropomorphic mice. You follow hardboiled detective Jack Pepper (played by Troy Baker), who investigates a series of cases across the city, which is styled on 1930s New York. You can read our full review here.
