Tekken Tag Tournament 2 publisher Namco Bandai has revealed it has set its sights on breaking a world record in celebration of the beat-‘em-up’s launch next week.
Specifically, the industry giant has declared it will be attempting to set a new record for ‘largest screen used in a videogame tournament.’
If you happen to reside in or able to get to Sydney, Australia on September 11, then you’ll be in for a treat as Namco will be attempting to break the record at the city’s IMAX theatre.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is a follow-up to the 1999 arcade original, which later hit PlayStation 2 as a launch title in 2000. The sequel offers the most extensive character roster in the series’ history, with the console release packing over 50 combatants.
The game will also be supported by the social online hub World Tekken Federation, allowing gamers to arrange battles, chat on the forums and track overall stats among other such activities.
Tekken Tag 2 is due out on September 11 in the U.S., September 13 in Australia and September 14 in Europe.
