Neil Druckmann, co-director on The Last of Us and studio boss at Naughty Dog, has revealed that the company’s as-yet unannounced new game has got him the “most excited” he’s ever been for a new project at the Sony-owned studio.
While details on the mystery title are pretty thin right now, it was recently reported that Troy Baker, who has worked with Naughty Dog on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, The Last of Us, and The Last of Us Part II, will be reuniting with Druckmann for the game. Baker is of course a prolific video game voice actor who has starred in numerous other big titles, including BioShock Infinite, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

In an interview with Variety, the publication quotes Druckmann as being “most excited he has ever been” for an in-development project at Naughty Dog.
The new game from Naughty Dog is believed to be a single-player affair that will focus on player freedom. Druckmann has been working on the title since 2020, and stated that his relative silence on the game isn’t down to him; it’s Sony who is keeping the celebrated designer from spilling the beans on Naughty Dog’s upcoming project.
