If you were patient enough to sit through the final credits of Afro Samurai you’d have discovered that there’s more episodic content planned for the anime hack ‘n slash game.
Gamecyte has a few interesting tidbits on the DLC after to speaking to the TV Screenwriter Pete Saji who suggested that there’s multiple directions that the series could go, including bringing Afro into a futuristic or modern day setting.
"What intrigued me about the Afro Samurai world," said Saji, "is that you don’t really know what year it is. There are elements of feudal Japan, but people have cell phones… it allows a lot of room for creativity."
"If you had to be anywhere, it would almost be cooler if you had a modern-day setting with these feudal Japanese elements,"
Though Saji didn’t go into specific detail, he did reveal that the new episode will feature an entirely new plot.
"It’s a new sort of Afro Samurai experience, with all of the downloadable episodes." he told Gamecyte. "It doesn’t pick up where anything left off."
There’s no word as yet when the new episode will be released.
