Call of Duty publisher Activision has revealed new ant-cheat measures to kick unscrupulous players into touch, and this one involves disarming cheaters so they are unable to cause any damage.
Speaking in post on the official Activision blog, Disarm is latest anti-cheat measure that Team Ricochet have been working on for Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone.
Today we’re sharing another mitigation technique from our toolbox: Disarm. Like the name implies, when cheaters are detected, we simply take their weapons away from them (including their fists).
We don’t expect many clips of this to find their way online, but we have seen it in action and the reactions from cheaters are always priceless.
The publishing giant also revealed that it has issued over 180,000 bans across both game since its last update in April.
Activision will release the next entry in its first-person shooter franchise, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, in October 2022 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
