The Call of Duty franchise has been one of the best war shooters in the video game industry, surpassing that of Medal of Honor which was initially one of the highly sought after WWII shooters. Since then, the series has shifted away from the WWII battlefields and into a modern day Eastern European and Middle Eastern setting. That move represented by Call of Duty 4 has earned many game of the year awards and many respectable review scores. So what of a sequel?
In a financial conference held yesterday, Activision has revealed that a new Call of Duty title is expected to release during the company’s 2009 fiscal year, which runs from April 2008 to March 2009. Activision also confirmed that the new COD title will release on the PS3, PC, PS2, Wii, DS, and Xbox 360 platforms. They also confirmed that the time frame in which the new downloadable content for COD4 is to be released will be between April and June of this year. We’ll remind you when that time comes.
The conference also confirmed that there are two new Guitar Hero games planned and that their first ever Bond game is due to release fiscal year 09 to coincide with the new Bond film, Quantum of Solace.
