New Call of Duty set in WW1, is next-gen only — rumor

The next chapter in the critically-acclaimed Call of Duty franchise will take place in World War I, according to the latest Internet chatter.

Bubblews.com (via NeoGAF) claims that this year’s entry in the military shooter series will be made for next-generation systems – that’s PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One – and will be officially titled Call of Duty: Patriots.

Other information reveals the game campaign will clock in at six hours, and there will be two sub-campaigns. Sledgehammer Games is developing the title, and hopes to continue with a three-part series.

Finally, the single-player mode is apparently playable via online co-op, and expect the usual multiplayer-based action as part of the package. Apparently, there will be a light ‘fantasy’ element to the setting too, although details are sketchy at present.

Call of Duty: Patriots is reportedly due out on November 14. However, we advise you to take this with a pinch of salt until we hear something from Activision.

Stay tuned.
