In the last few days we received a hefty dose of all things Final Fantasy XIV. One of the scans we came across on Gamekyo shows off the lush high fantasy environments set in Square Enix’s newest MMORPG.
The images include what appears to be a castle with huge bridges, a rich green field, a tree hut, and the sharp peaks of a dreary mountain range.
We also have a listing of the character races via scans of Famitsu. The races include:
Hyuran: The greatest population of Eorzea, split into midlanders and highlanders.
Lalafell: The intelligent, small-body farming community that came from islands in the southern seas.
Roegadyn: These are the big-body sea-goers from the northern seas.
Elezen: The race that once ruled Eorzea. They once fought the invading Hyuran, but now live in a peaceful coexistence.
The four new job categories of FFXIV include fighter, sorcerer, gatherer, and crafter. The subcategories run the gamut from swordsman and archer for fighters to blacksmith and cook for crafters.
Final Fantasy XIV is set for release on PlayStation 3 and PC in 2010. We expect to hear a lot more about this new MMORPG in the coming weeks and months.
