New details on EA Sports’ forthcoming soccer outing FIFA 09 have surfaced in a recent interview with the game’s producer, David Rutter.
Speaking with Gamespot, Rutter confirmed that this latest instalment in the popular franchise would include a total of 30 leagues and 40 International teams, as well as reiterating that around 250 key changes have been made over the game’s predecessor, FIFA 08.
Among the extensive list of improvements made include "responsiveness, physical play and their affect through attributes, plus the AI." Other new additions include a Custom Team Tactics Mode, allowing gamers to determine how their team plays, as well as mention of 140 attacking and 40 defensive options.
Furthermore, Rutter also confirmed the return of the Be A Pro game mode, which has now been expanded into a fully-fledged career option. “You’ll get the chance to choose or build a football player, control them for four seasons, and grow their abilities using the experience points you gain on the pitch,” he explained.
Interestingly, Rutter also promised to divulge details on "a game mode exclusive to that system," in reference to Sony’s PlayStation 3 console, later this year.
Stay tuned for further information as it becomes available.
