According to Impress Watch (via Siliconera), Final Fantasy XIII-2 won’t allow gamers to import their save data from Final Fantasy XIII, though there will still be a bonus in store for those who have played the 2010 RPG.
Specifically, those of you who still have save data for FFXIII on your console will be able to watch a special summary movie narrated by different characters, as opposed to the standard version you’d get if you didn’t have a FFXIII save file.
Impress Watch also detailed the game’s equipment system, confirming each character has four slots for items and a maximum load they are able to lug around. Players can distribute points however they see fit, but you won’t be able to exceed the limit.
Pleasingly, the publication said there is “almost no difference” between the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, and that 90 percent of the cut-scenes are rendered in real-time.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is due out in the U.S. on January 31, 2012, with a European release arriving on February 3.
