New Homefront: The Revolution trailer prepares us for war in occupied Philadelphia

Deep Silver has unleashed a brand new trailer for the upcoming Homefront: The Revolution for your viewing pleasure.

The footage offers another glimpse at war-torn Philadelphia, U.S., as we’re acquainted with main character Ethan Brady. There’s also plenty of moody chatter on fanning the flames of the revolution—fitting, as the title of the trailer is ‘Ignite.’

Have a butcher’s at the action below.

Homefront: The Revolution is scheduled for release in May 2016 for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. The game is a sequel to the original Homefront released in spring 2011 for last-generation consoles, which was developed by Kaos Studios.

However, the studio was shuttered not long after Homefront’s release, while publisher THQ went under in early 2013. As a result, Deep Silver picked up the rights to the franchise, with development shifting to Crytek UK, which later became Dambuster Studios.

The sequel takes two years after the events of the original Homefront in the year 2029, with the invading Greater Korean Republic (GKR) losing its grip on western states in the U.S. to the North American forces. Despite this, the GKR’s campaign has had more success in the east, and has captured Philadelphia and turned it into one of its major operating bases. The Revolution will focus on the aforementioned resistance member, Brady, in an attempt to retake the lost state.
