BioWare has confirmed to Game Informer that a brand new race known as the Kett will be introduced in Mass Effect Andromeda.
Not much is known about this mysterious new race at present, though it has been confirmed they will be the main antagonists of the game, and will oppose the Pathfinder (that’s you) directly. Given that humans are considered the alien race this time around, could the Kett hail from the Andromeda galaxy?
Mass Effect Andromeda is currently in development for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The game takes place some 600 years after the events of the original trilogy, with humanity exploring new galaxies in the hope of establishing a new home. Andromeda is seen as a spiritual successor to the original Mass Effect, with exploration of uncharted planets via the Mako a key gameplay component.

EA has yet to announce a Mass Effect Andromeda release date, other than to say it’ll ship in spring 2017. However, rumors have indicated the game will be released on March 21, 2017. The game will also receive a Collector’s Edition that includes a highly detailed remote control Nomad vehicle.
Despite the demand among gamers for a high-definition version of the original Mass Effect Trilogy, EA has said there are currently no plans to bring Commander Shepard’s antics to PS4 and Xbox One. Microsoft, however, has made available the whole trilogy as part of its backwards compatibility range.
