New details on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain have surfaced online via Hideo Kojima, confirming protagonist Venom Snake can take a shower to wash off the blood and grime of battle.
The news comes after Kojima-san shared a screenshot on Twitter depicting a dishevelled Snake caked in blood. However, unlike past games, the blood won’t miraculously disappear by itself; you’ll have to wash it off yourself.
Elsewhere, GamingBolt has caught wind of a possible identity to the mysterious ‘Man On Fire’ seen in previous footage. Speculation has suggested it’s Volgin, the antagonist of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, which took place many years before the events depicted in The Phantom Pain.
According to Square Enix, who handles the Kai Art figurines in Japan and is apparently making some based on MGSV, the mysterious character is indeed Volgin—though quite how he’ll figure into the story, considering he perished in MGS3, remains to be seen.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is due out on PS4, PS3, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 in 2015.
