New MK vs. DC Universe info revealed

New information on Midway’s forthcoming crossover fighter, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, has surfaced in the company’s latest MKast #2 podcast.

First and foremost is the confirmed appearance of veteran fighter, Lui Kang, along with a new addition to the DC line-up with Captain Marvel. According to the podcast, Marvel will be depicted as he appears in Alex Ross’s "Kingdom Come" comic book.

Elsewhere, it was revealed that the upcoming Comic Con in San Diego would play host to some significant announcements, including the introduction of four new characters that will have a "huge impact on the community.” Furthermore, the playable demo featured at the event will include fighters not present in the upcoming E3 demo next week.

In terms of content, the game has been confirmed to feature online functionality, as well as the inclusion of Achievements and Trophies in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the title, respectively.

Character-specific special moves will be present during free-fall combat, as well as character-specific fighting styles for Klose Kombat (or Boxing Mode) Lastly, a new podcast will air during the week of the Comic Con event, so expect more information to surface around that time.

MK vs. DC Universe is due out later this year on PS3 and Xbox 360.
