Secure PSN login for your PSN account
Sony has officially launched a new PSN sign-in method called PSN 2-step verification in a further bid to prevent against hackers targeting PlayStation 4 (PS4) accounts.
For those of you out of the loop on the process, 2-step verification affords PS4 users with an added layer of security—even if your password has already been compromised.
"Passwords can be compromised if you use the same password for multiple accounts, click on malicious links, open phishing emails and other methods," said the console maker. "If your password is compromised and becomes known to someone other than yourself, your account will still require a verification code to gain access when you activate 2-Step Verification."
2-step verification asks users to input their password when logging in as you’d expect, but then also requires that you enter a verification code that is sent to your mobile phone via text message. You won’t need to do this every time you use your PS4 however, unless you manually decide to log off your account.
