New Star Wars Battlefront content detailed, Lando & Dengar are joining the fight

DICE has confirmed details on the next chunk of downloadable content for Star Wars Battlefront, among which includes the addition of Lando and Dengar as playable characters in the science-fiction shooter.

The next expansion will drop in June and will be known as Bespin. Players can look forward to four new maps and will be taken ‘in and around Cloud City,’ while Lando and Dengar will join the Heroes and Villains faction, respectively.

If that wasn’t enough, DICE also revealed that it will be implementing more Star Cards, blasters and a new game mode. A total of eight Heroes will be featured in the Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass.

See below for a list of upcoming content in the next few months of 2016.

  • New In-Game Events – more double score weekends, community missions and Special Login Events are coming for players to earn more experience, credits and items.
  • New Hutt Contracts – Unlock powerful Star Cards like the Berserker Trait, Bacta Bomb and Ion Neutralizer.
  • More New Content – We also have a couple of surprises in store that we know our fans have been looking for, especially those who have been clamoring for ways to have more options to enjoy Star Wars Battlefront offline. More to come soon.
  • Specific for May the 4th – In celebration of Star Wars™ Day we have cool activities planned that we’ll announce soon.

Star Wars Battlefront was released in November 2015 for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. The game is seen as something of a soft reboot to the original series from the PS2-era, and sees gamers battling it out iconic locations plucked from George Lucas’s legendary movie franchise as either Rebel or Imperials forces.

In addition to playing as regular grunts, gamers also have the chance to step into the shoes of numerous main characters from the Star Wars universe, such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo and Emperor Palpatine.

In related news, there’s also a PlayStation VR-exclusive outing in the works, although it isn’t known yet if this will be a new game or an expansion to the existing game.
