It seems as though it’s been a while since we got any new, concrete news regarding Ubisoft Massive’s upcoming dystopian shooter Tom Clancy’s The Division, that is until now if a new video detailing its Alpha build is any indication.
Coming courtesy of Open World Games, the YouTube channel dedicated to games of the open world variation, the video, seen below, shares details about the game’s Alpha stage, which is currently being tested by various invited parties of players.
Here’s some key points from the video below:
– The Division’s A.I. is particularly aggressive and will use cover efficiently.
– As previously presumed, weapons will be customizable. What’s more, crafting also plays an intrinsic part in the gameplay, with each item once again color-coded. You can also craft your own clothes, so you stand out that little bit more.
– The game’s Dark Zones – areas outside of the run-of-the-mill social zones – have to be accessed through de-contamination chambers. These zones can hold up to roughly 100 players (as with the social zone), effectively like that of a server. You can choose to team up with a four-man squad there, too, or go it alone.
– Loot that is found in these aforementioned Dark Zones will need to be de-contaminated before use. Additionally, loot variants have different colors that signify their rarity.
– In its current Alpha stage, the game’s map size resembles that of downtown Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto V, minus the mountains north of the city. But it’s said that there’s plenty of other places to visit that are not yet available in the Alpha.
– The Alpha testers are confident of a release this calendar year
Again take these details with a pinch of salt, but we’re curious to hear your opinion on The Division, so don’t forget to leave a comment below.
