Square Enix‘s Yosuke Saito has revealed that Yoko Taro, the director of Nier Automata, is working with the Japanese gaming giant on a new digital-only title.
Saito-san confirmed the news during an official live stream for Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139, although not many details on the project were revealed. While it is currently confirmed as a digital game, there is a chance that a special physical edition may also be released down the line.
Taro-san himself has said that the game is “difficult to explain,” describing it as “a somewhat unusual game, I’ve created something mysterious that I have no idea how to explain or sell.” He added that it’s an “off-=beat game,” while Saito said that it feels “nostalgic and new.”
