Square Enix‘s Yosuke Saito has revealed that Yoko Taro, the director of Nier Automata, is working with the Japanese gaming giant on a new digital-only title.
Saito-san confirmed the news during an official live stream for Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139, although not many details on the project were revealed. While it is currently confirmed as a digital game, there is a chance that a special physical edition may also be released down the line.
Taro-san himself has said that the game is “difficult to explain,” describing it as “a somewhat unusual game, I’ve created something mysterious that I have no idea how to explain or sell.” He added that it’s an “off-=beat game,” while Saito said that it feels “nostalgic and new.”
Thats’s about all we know so far but more information is expected soon, possibly within the next few days.
In the meantime, Nier Replicant ver.1.2247448713 is due for release on PS4 on April 23. Check out the new trailer here.
