Remember Nightmare Creatures? It was a survival horror game developed by now-defunct studio Kalisto Entertainment and was published by Activision? It was released on the PlayStation, and Nintendo 64, and even spawned a sequel, Nightmare Creatures II. Well, regardless if you remember it or not, a new entry in the franchise is coming after 20 years!
Announced at PAX West by Albino Moose, Nightmare Creatures (the new one) is set both before and after the events of the first game. Note that the trailer below is from a game "early in development" so the art, sound and effects are subject to change according to the studio.
In case you’re wondering, that old-school look most likely is intentiona, and games did look that bad (or even worse?) during the PS1 days. Oh, and no platforms have been confirmed, so there is a chance this won’t even make it out on PlayStation platforms. But then again, who can resist reporting on a classic PS1 franchise right now in 2017, right?
Nightmare Creatures’ plot takes place during the 19th century, and deals with cults, monsters and someone wanting to take over the world and all that. You can read up about it here.
